I graduated from the University of Iowa in December, 1981 substitute taught for a semester before landing my first teaching job in Manchester, Iowa where I taught middle school family and consumer science for four years. From there, I went to MFLMarMac for 16 years teaching middle school science and middle and high school family and consumer science. I came to Prairie du Chien in 2000 and have enjoyed my time in the family and consumer science department. I have seen many changes to the department, most recently a fantastic remodel that will serve us well into the future! My classes currently include Food Science, Food Service, Freshman Health Careers, Intro to Health Occupations, Textile Technology and Independent Living.
My family life includes my husband Rick who is employed at 3M. Our son Jeremy, a physical therapist, and daughter in law Courtney who have given us two grandchildren. Our daughter, Jill, a pharmacist and her husband, Justin have also blessed us with two grandchildren. In my free time, my favorite thing to do is spend time with all of them. I also love DIY repurposing projects. In addition, I enjoy traveling, walking, sewing and reading.
