2025-2026 Coolidge Scholarship applicants must intend to enroll full-time at an accredited U.S. College or university as an undergraduate for the first time in fall 2027.
Students in their junior year of high school, or the equivalent if home schooled, are eligible to apply.
2025-26 Coolidge Scholarship applicants must be citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States of America by the 2025-26 deadline.
Deadline to apply is Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. All application materials, including letters of reference must be submitted by the deadline. |

Scholarship Application Checklist:

DAR offers 28 scholarships for graduating high school seniors, and college and graduate students in specific areas of study. Applicants must be citizens of the United States. Applicants must attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States.

Description -
Marine Credit Union believes in and supports higher education by offering nine- $1000 scholarships to our members and/or their children. These scholarships are intended to be representative of our membership and our Credit Union philosophy: "We are on a mission to advance the lives of people from a place of financial need to a life of ownership and giving back in our communities."
The scholarship award will be paid directly to each recipient's college or university for tuition, fees, and other educational expenses.
Scholarship applications will be reviewed on each of the eligibility and selection criteria listed below.
An applicant may apply whether selected to receive this scholarship in a previous year or not.
Eligibility
- Recipient or the parents/guardians must be members in good standing of Marine Credit Union.
- Recipient must be enrolled as a full-time collegiate student during the next academic year.
- Applicants cannot also apply for the MCU Employee Scholarship.

Selection:
An independent committee will select recipients based on the following criteria: the applicant's academic history, transcripts, goals, responses to the short-answer prompts, letter of recommendation, circumstances, and extra-curricular activities. The decision of the independent committee is final and not subject to review.
Recipients will be announced by June 1, 2026.
Payments -
Scholarships will be awarded for the following academic year unless otherwise stated. Payments will be sent to the colleges/universities and disbursed by them in equal installments based on their school terms (e.g., two installments for semesters, three installments for academic years divided into trimesters).

- Ancestry - What is you Polish ancestry? In 200 words or less, describe you exposure to and/or familiarity with the Polish Language and culture
- Career Plans - in 150-200 words, describe your educational plans/career goals
- Essay - Write an original titled 750-1000 word informative essay on a major event in Polish arts, culture, or history. Explain why the topic interest you or how it relates to you personally. This essay is to be well researched and well supported. In your essay, properly footnote all your sources.
- To be Eligible for Consideration
- Applicant must be of Polish ancestry or studying the Polish language, history, society or culture or be significantly engaged with Polish culture.
- Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident.
- Applicant must be a Wisconsin resident (a Wisconsin mailing address or graduate of Wisconsin High School)
- Applicant must be enrolling or enrolled in an educational program seeking the associate, bachelor's or graduate degree in any field of study at an accredited U.S. university or college.
- Applicant has demonstrated excellent academic performance. Successful applicants will usually have a grade pint average of at least a 3.0 on a four-point scale.

The Women's Civic Club if offering scholarships for two Prairie du Chien High School Graduates this academic year. Each scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000. In order to be eligible for this scholarship you must fulfill the following requirements and procedures.
The Women's Civic Club scholarship selection committee will take into consideration the following:
- Community Service
- Extracurricular activities
- Academic Performance
- Short Essay
The typed short essay, no longer than two pages with standard writing conventions
- Rational for applying for this scholarship
- Career Plans/Statement of career/life goals
- Describe your civic/community involvement over the past several years and what you are currently doing. Be sure to include one paragraph about your most memorable service experience and detailed description of your role.
- What are your plans for future civic involvement?
In addition to your application and short essay please include:
- A copy of your high school transcript including 1st semester of senior year
- Two letters of recommendation: one must be from the advisor who supervised a memorable service experience. To be considered valid, the letters must also include the relations of that person to you (teacher, coach, employer, advisor, clergy person, etc. and his/her signature.

The Crawford County Democratic Party is offering a scholarship for one Crawford County senior graduating in 2026. It is named to honor the memory of our former party chairperson, Robert Welsh. This scholarship will be worth $500. In order to be eligible for the scholarship the student must illustrate commitment to the ideals of democracy: Promoting peace, liberty, justice, human rights, equality, and the common good. Our strength as a country is determined by how well we treat all those who live within our boarders.
Attach a typed essay that includes the following items:
- Rationale for applying for this scholarship
- Career plans/Statement of career/life goals
- Identify any involvement in community service activities, membership in political science club, student government participation, attending a local Democratic Party meeting, marching in a parade/demonstration, distributing fliers for a political candidate, working a phone bank/knocking doors in support of a candidate, attending local government/school board meetings to express your concerns, voting, encouraging others to vote, etc.
- Select one current issue facing people in your community, state or nation. (Examples: quality public education, strengthening democracy/protecting our rights, climate change/protecting the environment, gun safety/violence prevention, improving access to quality healthcare, lowering costs for food/housing/childcare, fixing immigration policy, worker's rights, AI/technology issues, etc.)
- Describe why this issue is important to you
- Provide details about actions taken/plans made which demonstrate your concern and commitment.
- Include additional actions that you think could/should be taken by individuals or government to achieve a solution.
In addition to your completed application and essay please include:
- Two signed letters of recommendation from persons (teacher, coach, employer, clergy person, who have witnessed your commitment to the democratic ideals listed at the top of page 1.
- Proof of enrollment at a Technical College or University.
Award: Announcement of the scholarship will be made in a press release prior to graduation and funds will be officially presented to you are your school's Academic Award ceremony.
