Requirements:

The PDC Football Club will be awarding scholarships to two graduating seniors to honor their dedication and commitment to our program, school, and community. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Member of the Senior Class of Prairie du Chien High School
  2. Member of the PDC Football Team all four years of High School
  3. Member of hte Tough Club going into your Senior year.
  4. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  5. Post secondary education plans
  6. The winners of the scholarships must be willing to work three hours at the 2024 Pigskin Classic (PDC Football Club Fundraiser) on June 22nd.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE:

Selection will be made by a committee formed from the PDC Football Club Board.

VALUE:

$500 for each scholarship. Payment will be made at the end of your first semester in college. A transcript will need to be submitted to the PDC Football Club as proof of enrollment.

Requirements:

Requirements for Eligibility:

Any student planning to continue their education in the fields of Dentistry, Healthcare, or Business. The applicant should have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Anyone applying with a GPA lower than 3.0 will be reviewed at the discretion of the scholarship donors. The applicant must be planning or enrolled in an accredited trade school, community college, or university.

Application: Please include a copy of your high school transcript. Additionally, the application will include an essay. The essay should be a minimum of one page, single spaced. Use 12-point, Times New Roman font. Include an additional page highlighting academic, extracurricular and community achievements.

The essay should address the following questions:

  • Who you are now, and who you hope to be in five years?
  • Other than your accomplishments in school, tell us what makes you most proud of yourself.
  • What degree you will be pursuing and why?
  • And finally, if you had to name the most influential person in your life, who would it be, and why?
Awards:

One (1), with the possibility of one additional, depending on the amount/quality of submitted applications. (This is decided by the donors)

Jonathan D. Steger Memorial Scholarship Local 4/26/2024 $500
Requirements:

Jonathan D. Steger was a 2005 graduate of Prairie du Chien High School who was actively involved in FFA, agriculture, farm mechanics, hunting, and raising livestock.  He lived life to the fullest but always kept his priorities in line helping others, spending time with family and friends, and working to keep farmers' equipment in the fields and productive.

It is the wish and desire of the Steger family to honor a Prairie du Chien High School graduating senior who seeks to further their education by carrying on this legacy.

Requirements for Eligibility:

1.  Member of the Senior Class of Prairie du Chien High School

2.  Scholarship applicant must plan to attend a 4-year college or university or pursue a degree at a 2-year technical college

3.  Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher

4.  Scholarship applicant must meet or have participated in at least one of the following to be considered for the award: 

  • FFA
  • 4-H
  • Worked for or helped on a farm
  • Has a desire to pursue an Agricultural or Agricultural Mechanic related degree after graduation

 

Awards:

One $500 scholarship will be awarded.

Check will be made out to the student and school on the 1st day of the second semester.

The Prairie Enthusiasts - Southwest Chapter Local 4/30/2024 (2) $1,000
Requirements:

The Southwest Wisconsin Chapter of The Prairie Enthusiasts (TPE) Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to individuals interested in or currently pursuing higher education in the conservation or environmental fields. 

TPE Southwest Wisconsin Chapter, defined by Crawford, Richland, Iowa and Grant Counties, sponsors up to 2 $1,000 scholarships to assist a qualified individual to reach their goals in these fields. 

Rules and Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Applicants must be interested in or currently pursuing studies in the fields of conservation or environmentalism and one of the following:
  • A resident or former resident of the aforementioned WI counties or, 
  • Currently, enrolled in a college or other institution of higher learning in the aforementioned WI Counties
  1. The committee will withdraw the scholarship for any applicant who does not enroll in a conservation and environmental field. The scholarship will be paid directly to the student upon successful completion of their first college or tech school semester. 
  2. This is not a loan and will not have to be paid back.
  3. Age gender, race, religion, or disability is not a basis of determination of eligibility. 
  4. Applications and supporting documentation not submitted on the correct form, incomplete, filled out incorrectly, or not submitted by the deadline will automatically be disqualified from the selection process.
  5. It is the responsibility of the applicant to make sure that all of the necessary requirements are met, and all documentation is submitted by the deadline.

Ab Nicholas Scholarship State 4/30/2024 Varies
Requirements:

Before you apply for an Ab Nicholas Scholarship check to see that you meet all of the eligibility requirements:

Athletic Requirements

  • You must be participating in your high school's boys or girls basketball program during this (your senior) year either as a player or a manager.

Financial Requirements

  • The foundation uses your completed Free Application For Student Aid form (FAFSA) to determine financial need.
  • You may also apply for and receive other financial aid

Educational Requirements

  • You must be a senior graduating this year from a Wisconsin high school - public or private.
  • You must attend a University of Wisconsin System school as a full-time student (at least 12 credits), enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year program.
  • To renew your scholarship, you must maintain performance consistent with the original award criteria, including a cumulative grade point average greater than 2.0.

Other Requirements

  • You must be a bona fide resident of Wisconsin.
  • You will need a unique student ID number for the UW System school(s) you are applying to.
  • You will need a completed FAFSA form on file (Free Application For Student Aid) for your application to be considered.
  • You will need to file an application online during the enrollment period of February 1 - April 30 of your senior year.

 

Awards:

This year the Ab Nicholas Scholarship Foundation will offer scholarships to approximately 100 Wisconsin public and private high school graduates based on need, academic achievement and character. The annual scholarships - $10,000 for four-year programs and $5,000 for two-year programs-are renewable for the length of the program.

Prevention Magazine Scholarship National 5/1/2024 $500
Requirements:

Abuse as we all know has no boundaries. Abuse can be drugs/alcohol, mental, or physical abuse, how dealt with, what you learned from it, and what was right or wrong (in your own opinion) and the way the incident or problem was handled. 

To qualify to win a $500 Scholarship - All you have to do is write an essay (600-800) words, double spaced, about a personal encounter you or someone you know has had with abuse.

  1. You must currently be a high school senior
  2. Your school must be in: Iowa, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin
  3. You must have plans to attend college or plans for a training program, JATC, Military, etc.

Linda M. Parkins Memorial Scholarship Local 5/1/2024 500.00
Requirements:

History:

Linda grew up near Bloomington, Wisconsin. She worked and volunteered in her community as well as working for the Prairie du Chien School District. She split her time working at BAK, the High School, C.O.V.E and Wyalusing Academy in her years of service to Prairie du Chien, along with raising her 2 children with her husband Tom. Linda passed away on January 4th, 2022, after a long battle of unexplained medical issues. Her compassion, work ethic, and love for her job and the people she worked with is the foundation of this scholarship.

The Linda M. Parkins Memorial Scholarship will be offering a $500.00 scholarship to one graduating Senior of Prairie du Chien High School. The award will be based on grades and the qualities the recipient demonstrates. The medical field holds many areas of unexplained and unsolved medical mysteries. This scholarship will be given to a recipient pursuing further education in the medical field.

Requirements:

The purpose of the Prairie du Chien Booster Club scholarship is to assist graduating Prairie du Chien High School seniors with college expenses. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic achievement and a high level of participation in Prairie du Chien.

Requirements: To be considered for this honor, the student must meet the following requirements:

  1. Member of the Senior Class of Prairie du Chien High School
  2. Plan to attend post-secondary education at a university, college, or technical school
  3. Participated in at least one high school sport
  4. Demonstrated achievements in athletics
  5. Success in academics
  6. Strict adherence to the athletic code

Scholarship Committee:

Wisconsin Towns Association Scholarship State 5/24/2024 (7) $1,000
Requirements:

2024 Wisconsin Towns Association Scholarship Essay Requirements

  1. Entrants must prepare an essay addressing the 2024 WTA Scholarship program topic: What strategies can be implemented by town officials in collaboration with citizens to maintain civility in local government?
  2. The typed (not handwritten) essay should be between 500 and 1,000 words and double spaced.
  3. Essays must include a bibliographic listing of sources used.
  4. The completed essay should be postmarked no later than May 24, 2024, and mailed to the address at the bottom of the Background Information sheet.

Rural Mutual Insurance Company, Wisconsin Towns Association, and Scott Construction, Inc. are again offering the following scholarships to winners of an essay contest. Scholarships will be awarded on the following basis:

  • Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the students with the highest-ranking essay score from a town or village insured by Rural Mutual Insurance Company as of May 1, 2024. 
  • Five (5) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the top five additional students with the highest ranking essay scores.

Additional information:

  • All applicants must graduate from a Wisconsin public or private high school in 2024 and plan to attend a Wisconsin public or private college or university in 2024. 
  • Essays will be judged independently on originality and subject matter in relation to the topic. The essay must also contain correct spelling, grammer, and punctuation. 
  • Judging will be completed by August 9, 2024.
  • Recipients will be announced by August 23, 2024. Proof of enrollment in a Wisconsin public or private college is required to receive a scholarship.

WCA Group Health Trust Scholarship Local 6/7/2024 (5) $2,000
Requirements:

The WCA Group Health Trust (GHT) is once again proud to sponsor five scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each. 

To be eligible to receive a scholarship from GHT, the applicant must enroll as a full-time undergraduate student at a Wisconsin university or college, either public or private, in the fall 2024 term. The applicant must be working towards a career in health care services. The applicant or the applicants spouse, parent, grandparent or guardian must be a GHT member.
