IMPORTANT DATES:

The public school open Regular Open Enrollment application period begins at midnight on February 2, 2026 and ends on April 30, 2026, at 4:00 pm.

Alternative Open Enrollment Opens July 1 and runs until the end of the school year.

HOW TO APPLY:

Go Online to Wisconsin DPI Open Enrollment Webpage. It is recommended that you submit your application as early as possible during the application period. Late applications will not be accepted for any reason.

Alternative Open Enrollment

Did you miss the Open Enrollment application period? The 2011 Act 114 established a procedure by which parents may apply for open enrollment outside of the regular application period called Alternative Open Enrollment. See WI DPI website for more information.

Course Options

There is no longer Part-Time Open Enrollment available. DPI created a Course Options law allows a pupil enrolled in a public school district to take up to two courses at any time from an educational institution: A public school in a nonresident school district; the University of Wisconsin System; a technical college; nonprofit institutions of higher education; a tribal college; a charter school; and a nonprofit organization that has been approved by DPI.
